[How To] Disable Advertisements from new uTorrent

uTorrent has evolved dramatically in recent times. They are trying to find a business model and although they seem to have found it with the next version. In uTorrent version 3.2.2, which is already available for download, and advertising is enabled at the top where it shows the download progress.

While advertising is not very annoying, beyond that bright yellow bar, and it is a help to the team behind the program, you may disable it to our liking.

This modification is not official, but it was published by one of the most relationships with the theme of torrents. The fact is that advertising can be disabled without removing some kind of return to the program by following these steps :

1. - Click the "Options" in the top right.

2.  - Select "Preferences" 

2. - We enter "Advanced" at the top right, where Filter type "sponsored" to locate us ULR advertising. 

3. - Once detected we click on it at the bottom mark it as "False". 

4. - Restart uTorrent and it should be gone advertising on top.

In my case the lower advertising on the left did not disappear, which was in the top itself. As I mentioned, advertising only appears in the latest version of uTorrent , some people may have appeared a notice to update but it was not my case and I had to download it from the official website to prove it worked.

[News] Btjunkie, one of the largest sites to find torrents is being closed!

This year 2012 has been particularly controversial in relation to freedom to share files over the Internet, with the fall of Megaupload the most emblematic of January. And now in February, perhaps a second major blow was the closing year of btjunkie.org, the larger torrents search engine on the planet, who has decided to close operations voluntarily.

BTJunkie closed by leaving the following message on the front page of its website:

"Friends, this is the end of the road. The decision was not easy, but we decided to close voluntarily. We have been fighting for years for your ability to communicate, but it is time to move on. It was an experience of a lifetime, we wish the best to all! "

Btjunkie opened in 2005 and so far, had the database file larger: four million exceeded assets, with about 4,200 added every day, offering a service very similar to the index The Pirate Bay torrents around the world will no longer work more.

Btjunkie never been involved in legal action, but the recent cases of MegaUpload and The Pirate Bay, where the founders have ended up in jail, played a role in closing the site, as reported Btjunkie to TorrentFreak .

This means that storage services are really frightened by these cases. Many of these services have already been linked to copyright infringement by hosting or allow sharing of protected content. It is unclear whether there will be more services to close because of this, but we can not exclude that other sites take the opportunity to try to fill the void left Btjunkie.
